Top Ten Books I Wish Could Have Had Sequels

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the girls over at The Broke and The Bookish.

This week’s topic is the ten books that we wish had sequels for whatever reason. This topic was so hard, I almost couldn’t think of any to add to my list. I blame the publishers for publishing almost solely series and no stand-alones.

1. Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling: 7 books obviously aren’t enough. Not even far! I have SO MUCH LOVE for this series and especially its characters, so I’m still eagerly anticipating that Harry Potter encyclopedia I hope she’s going to write/publish. Preferably with updates for ALL characters. BUT I would also love sequels featuring the Marauders or Harry’s kids at Hogwarts. SO MANY OPTIONS.

2. My Name is Memory by Ann Brashares: While I absolutely love this book (it’s one of my favorites), it has one of the worst endings EVER. The ending looks SO MUCH like a set-up for a sequel, but until now there still hasn’t been one. I need it badly, to just get a little closure, you know?

3. The Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants series by Ann Brashares: Well, this is her second mention in this list, so she better get writing, right? I love Lena and Kostas, so I would love to read some more about just them. Don’t get me wrong, I love all four main characters, but I could always relate a lot to Lena, so that’s why I only want to read more about her.

4. Persuasion by Jane Austen: Persuasion is my favorite Austen novel (although I have yet to read Sense & Sensibility and Mansfield Park). Anne Elliot is a great character and Wentworth is my favorite Austen hero. So obviously this is never going to happen, but I would have loved to read about the younger Anne falling in love with Wentworth.

5. Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson: I love the narration of this book so much as it’s so unique: Tinkerbell is actually the narrator of this story about Tiger Lily and Peter Pan. While I have to admit I cried a little at the ending of this book, I would have liked to read more about Tinker herself. I get it, it’s Tinker telling Tiger Lily’s story, but I got attached to Tinker to the point of wanting to learn more about herself.

6. Rules of Attraction by Simone Elkeles: I’ve really enjoyed Simone’s Perfect Chemistry series (they are all companion novels actually), but I loved Rules of Attraction the most out of all three books. I just love the chemistry between the two main characters, Carlos and Kiara (one of my all-time fave YA couples) so so much. Give me more!

7. Raised by Wolves series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes: I think this series ended quite perfectly, but there was one side character I absolutely adore (Lake) and I would love to read more about her.

So you see, I failed at listing ten again. I just could not think of any more to add! I’m not sure if this means that I’m perfectly satisfied with the endings of the books I’ve read, or if I just haven’t finished enough series, though.
