November book haul

Book haul

Every first Saturday of the month is the time when I will show you all of the books I have added to my books the past month. These are all the books I added to my TBR-pile in Novemeber!

This month was the month of the Kindle books (some awesome deals I had to take advantage of) and I also went on a shopping trip to the Boekenfestijn (A Dutch book fair with cheap books) where I managed to restrain myself. I’ve been going every year to the Boekenfestijn for the past three years and I finally learned my lesson that I shouldn’t buy ALL OF THE BOOKS just because they are cheap. I still have some books unread that I bought at the first Boekenfestijn I went to! Anyway, here is my physical book haul:

novemberhaul

Between Shades of Grey by Ruta Sepetys: I’ve been meaning to read this since so long. I really love historical fiction and this book sounds really emotional and just awesome. ALso, I know nothing about this topic so I’m glad I get to read about it and learn a bit more.

Shades of Earth by Beth Revis: I LOVE Across the Universe. I finally read the sequel A Million Suns recently and that one ended on SUCH a cliffhanger. I NEED TO READ THIS. Also yay for finishing a series, because I always forget to buy the sequels unfortunately.

Books bought at the Boekenfestijn
Stay by Deb Caletti: Truth be told, I don’t know what this books is about. I bought Stay mainly because I just want to read more contemporary books and I know that many people have loved Deb Caletti’s books.

Shadows Cast by Stars by Catherine Knutsson: Again, I don’t really know what this book is about. I just got really grabby because I saw hardcover book for SUCH a cheap price. And the cover is so pretty!

Between the Lines by Jodi Picoult and Samantha van Leer: Finally, a book I know what it is about, LOL! There are actually quite a few people who didn’t like this, but I just had to give it a try, especially for such a cheap price.

Kindle books

World After One & Only Brooke

World After by Susan Ee: Angelfall is an AMAZING read, so naturally I had to have World After. I’m so curious what’s going to happen next!

One & Only by Viv Daniels: I’ve heard that this is a New Adult book without the usual cliches. Of course I’m curious because the usual New Adult books weren’t what I wanted for this genre. Really excited for this one!

Brooke by Veronica Rossi: The Under the Never Sky series is one of my favorite series EVER and I loved Roar & Liv, the other novella. I’m really curious about this one, because Brooke isn’t particularly one of the most popular characters. Like Roar, beloved by all: it was kind of obvious to get his own novella.

The Transcend Time saga by Michelle Madow: I bought the complete series, because Michelle Madow would donate the money earned by November purchases to the Philippines. That was the extra incentive for me to buy it, actually. I wanted to read this when it first came out, but I had never bought it.

Shatter Me Unravel me

Shatter Me and Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi: I’m so excited to read these! They were both on sale so I had to buy them!

That was all the new books I got this month! Have you read any of these?

Book haul October

Book haul is the monthly post in which I will show you what books I’ve added to my shelves in the past month. This is inspired by In My Mailbox from the Story Siren. I’m quite aware that we are already a week into November, but I didn’t want to pass on the opportunity to show my October book haul.

The Iron Traitor by Julie Kagawa: this is the second book of her Iron Fey spinoff series, and I bought it even though I haven’t read the first book yet. I love the original Iron Fey series and Kagawa’s Blood of Eden series so I figure I’m quite safe with buying this one. I’m probably going to end up liking this. And if not, at least I’ll have this pretty on my shelves. Is it weird that I’m attracted by that face? Probably?

Monstrous Beauty by Elizabeth Fama: I love the spine for this one! It looks so whimsical and fairy tale like. I have already read this one and I really like it. If you feel let down by YA mermaid books, try this one because it’s the best I’ve read. It’s so different, but in a good way.

Perfect Ruin by Lauren DeStefano: I love Lauren DeStefano’s writing style and I love her Chemical Garden books (although I’ve yet to read the last soon, must fix that soon!) so I HAD to have this new book by her. I read it and I love it, but not as much as her other series. But this hardcover copy, guys, IT IS GORGEOUS. Seriously, so so pretty. I don’t think pictures can do it justice.

Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo: After seeing so many positive reviews and book pushing by some of my favorite bloggers, I bought Shadow and Bone. I’m so glad I did, it’s amazing! I IMMEDIATELY bought Siege and Storm after finishing and now I’m going to read it soon.

Kindle books:

These are the books I got on my Kindle. They were all very good deals I couldn’t resist.

fangirlGeekGirlScandalousEarl

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell: I’ve heard great things about Rainbow Rowell’s books and I’ve been meaning too try one of them.
The Geek Girl and The Scandalous Girl by Gina Lamm: This looked like such a cute romance novel, and for just 1.99 I couldn’t pass it up. Definitely going to read it when I need a pick me up this winter.
SimplyIrrisistible
Simply Irresistible by Jill Shalvis: I bought another romance book this month, which is not something I usually a genre I buy or read a lot. But this book has been recommended by one of my favorite book bloggers, so I also had to buy this one. I have read it since then, and I thought it was okay, but not great. I don’t think romance really is my genre.

That was all the new books I got last month. Have you read any of these books? Let me know in the comments!
