2014 Releases I’m Dying to Read

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the girls over at The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is 2014 releases we can’t wait to read. Since a few weeks back we listed the sequels we can’t wait for, this list is sequel free on purpose. Also, no debuts, since that’s the topic in a few weeks!

The Vanishing SeasonThe Winner's CurseTsarina
1. The Vanishing Season by Jodi Lynn Anderson: Jodi Lynn Anderson is one of my favorite authors and her book Tiger Lily is one of my all time favorites. It made me cry! Anyway, I don’t really know what this book is about, since I don’t want to spoil myself before reading. Which I will OF COURSE.

2. The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski: Have you seen the early reviews for this book? Seriously, nothing but praise. Which means I’ll love it too, RIGHT? I have this pre-ordered so please let me love you book.

3. Tsarina by J. Nelle Patrick: RUSSIA. That’s enough for me to be SO EXCITED for Tsarina. I love books with foreign settings.

The Secrets of Lily GravesOn the FencePanic
4. The Secrets of Lily Graves by Sarah Strohmeyer: I read Sarah Strohmeyer’s ‘Smart Girls Get What They Want’ this year and adored it. It’s seriously really cute and Sarah writes the best side characters. I’m really excited for The Secrets of Lily Graves because it sounds so different (it’s set in a funeral parlor) and it’s supposedly a lot like Pretty Little Liars, which is my guilty pleasure (The TV show, that is). Also, doesn’t the girl on the cover look like Zooey Deschanel?

5. On the Fence by Kasie West: I loved Kasie West’s Pivot Point and I’m anxiously awaiting its sequel Split Second. Katie also writes contemporary books, which I have yet to read but I really want to. Hopefully they are as good as Pivot Point.

6. Panic by Lauren Oliver: Finally an other contemporary from Lauren Oliver! I love Before I Fall, but I’ve yet to read the Delirium series because people aren’t so positive of it. Hopefully this is more like Before I Fall.

Daughter of ChaosWe Were Liars
7. Daughter of Chaos by Jen McConnel: WITCHES, that’s mainly why I want to read this book. I love books with witches (maybe my love for Harry Potter had something to do with this?) so I need to read this one.

8. We Were Liars by E. Lockhart: After reading Jamie’s review for this book, I knew I had to read this. She recommends going in blind and that’s what I’m going to do! I used to do that a lot and I’ve been meaning to do so lately.

Little Blue LiesKiller Instinct
9. Little Blue Lies by Chris Lynch: The synopsis for this book was written really well in my opinion, because I love the writing style. I hope that the book itself is written in the same way. Also, it follows some kind of crime family, so that’s really intriguing!

10. Killer Instinct by Shannon Greenland: Or S.E. Green of course! Anyway this book sounds SO SO intriguing and awesome. The main character hunts criminals & studies serial killers because she fears she might be one herself.

These were my ten picks, what did you think of them?
